ch-ch-ch-check it out

i just want to wish my little brother good luck on his opening weekend! looks like he got off to a great start last night even though he didn't agree with Global Sask since he told me he "sucked" when i talked to him on the phone earlier! good luck duncan, we love you and wish we could be there!

krazy with a k

i have come to a new realization about kijiji-ians - they are absolutely insane. now we all know that all-in-all i am a huge kijiji fan but honestly, our latest experience was too crazy haha

after a few weeks of not moving an inch from our drive way, we decided to post jesse's old truck on kijiji. since it wouldn't pass the road safety test and really could only be sold for parts or as a farm truck, we figured we shouldn't ask too much. jesse originally spent $500 dollars on it nearly 3 years ago when it was still in good running condition and had less that 350 000 km's on it, we figured we would  ask $250 OBO this go around. well, jesse posted the add at 9:07 on tuesday night and by 9:11 we already had a buyer that was "coming with cash in 20 minutes".  i seriously thought i was going to have to pay someone to take that bad boy off our hands; best case scenario, call the kidney foundation or some other charity who would write me a cheque for $50 bucks and tow it to the dump for me after no one replied to our add for a month. this overwhelming amount of interest was completely unexpected.

so, jesse immediately ran over to his parents house so that kev could help him write up a bill of sale, then he ran back to our place where he hurriedly cleaned out all his old receipts and tools from the glove box and the back bed (yes, that is how unprepared we were). here is the shocking part. in the 34 minutes it took to clean out the truck and for the incredibly mexican buyer to arrive at our door (i say mexican because he had a very strong spanish accent, barley understood english and tried to barter us down to $100)  we received another 10 phone calls and a few text messages plus a good 5-10 emails. it was an incredibly frantic 53 minutes but definitely worth it!

this experience definitely opened my eyes. i cannot believe how on it people are with kijiji - i never understood how i had such an issue getting things from sellers when they posted their add a mere 30 minutes before hand. well, now i completely understand: kijiji-ians are krazy with a k.
