amazing

lately jesse and i have been exploring the idea of getting another puppy to keep emi company during the day. we have always said we would get two dogs and now that emi is 7.5 months old it is about time we start seriously exploring options if this is something we are going to do. most vets suggest that if you are going to add another puppy to your household that you do it anywhere between 9 months and 2 years of getting your first.

i know what you are thinking; we want another great dane, crazy, right? you would be surprised, the majority of the dane owners we run into at the dog park have two and claim that getting the second was the best thing that ever happened to the first. not only do they keep each other company during the day, but they play together, eat together, learn together and, most importantly, they sleep together (yes, we may be able to finally get emi out of our bed).

 this amazing story definitely made me think it would be a good idea: lily, a blind great dane and her guide dog, another merle great dane (like emi), who she relies upon completely both needing a new home after their owners are no longer able to care for them.

thankfully, there has been an overwhelming response from people who want to help! hopefully these beautiful puppies will find a home sooner than later.
